Our tattoo balm is made out of 100% natural and ethically sourced ingredients. We use mango butter as our base because of its high anti-oxidant content, meaning it actually regenerates healthy, new skin tissue. Fresh ink heals faster and looks crisp and vibrant for longer. This can also shorten the length of time a tattoo normally requires to heal! Mango butter also provides UV protection from the suns damaging rays. While we do not recommend that this product be used as a replacement for sunscreen, we do recommend that it be used first, under sunscreen as a barrier, to not only provide UV protection, but protection from the synthetics commonly found in sunscreen.
We use a high grade 100% pure beeswax as a natural emollient. Beeswax moisturizes skin without clogging pores since it is 100% petroleum free, unlike paraffin waxes. Beeswax also serves as an excellent surface barrier before spending time in chlorinated pools or hot tubs.
We have incorporated Hemp seed oil because of its rich protein and omega content giving skin, as well as new and existing tattoos, a bright and healthy appearance. Tattoos will stay crisp, vibrant and healthy looking for longer due to the nourishing quality of hemp seed oil.
Another key ingredient is pure French Lavender essential oil which serves as an anti-septic that is gentle enough for freshly tattooed skin, reducing the risk of infection. The anti-inflammatory qualities of lavender essential oil mean new tattoos heal with minimal itching; tattoos that are left alone and not scratched heal better without colour gaping!
